The exploits of various guests and staff at the luxury resort during the week.. HBO has renewed the series for a second season, despite the show’s limited one-season miniseries. The show is said to be an anthology-style series with new characters for each season. HBO has done this before (to wide acclaim) with True Detective (2014). Featuring Jeremy Vine: Episode #4.175 (2021). Although some from the first season were cringe-worthy. This second season is about as masterful as anyone could hope for. It starts off a bit slow, the first episode, but quickly finds its feet and impresses again and again, impressing me as if I wasn’t quite experienced. It feels like I’m reviewing every thought I’ve ever had on vacation, many of which I’ve long since forgotten. This score alone is a delight, but no need to worry – flirting with operatic heights of drama and beauty is something quite appropriate given its Sicilian setting. Given the great acting and seemingly effortless. story, I would have to say Mike White, this series' creator, is some kind of unsung genius. The guy seems to know no bounds and one of the sharpest details I’ve ever seen.
